A Note from Metric Coffee:
El Punto is a small farm owned by producer Dionisio Rivera in the Municipality of Las Flores, in Santa Barbara, Honduras. We first met Dionisio 4 years after falling in love with samples of his Paraneima variety lot and then paying a visit shortly thereafter. Dionisio is a young coffee producer who inherited El Punto as a part of dowry from his father-in-law, who sells most of his coffee to New York's cafe Grumpy. The farm, although small, has a lot of potential to produce stellar coffees. The young trees are only beginning to produce now, 4 years into the relationship, and we are noticing a year over year improvement in the cup quality. We can't wait to see what the next 3-5 years bring Dionisio as he aims to purchase more land and strive to be one of the better producers around Las Flores.
This year’s harvest highlights what a unique and delicious variety Paraneima can be. The coffee is juicy and sweet, with flavors of key lime and cranberry. While the sweetness and acidity highlight the care with which the coffee was grown, harvested, and processed, the unique varietal expression is found in the herbaceous and slightly savory quality the cup demonstrates on the finish. Balanced with the full flavor spectrum, this complexity leaves us with lovely thoughts as the flavor lingers.
Created in partnership with Lord Huron, Drops in the Lake is an otherworldly blend meant to evoke feelings of introspection and complexity. As distinctive as the band that inspired it, Drops in the Lake is a perfect harmony of subtle notes, designed to be enjoyed at any time of the day, preferably while listening to your favorite Lord Huron album.
Approximate Ship date for next roast: late-January, 2021. date subject to change.
